The founder of The iMsk & Spine Group, Dr. Juan Leon’s nearly 20 years in practice spans a broad variety of expertise. In founding The Pain Group, he sought to bring a higher standard to pain treatment and rehabilitation above the typical standard of care.

Dr, Ledon believes in the old fashioned attitude towards healing and medicine, which emphasizes individualized care. Above all, a physician must listen to they patient. Believing innovation and practicality stem from personal care, Dr. Ledon has led The Pain Group’s mission towards expanding care of pain through focused, personalized treatment. Throughout, he has been a leader on his team for innovative approaches towards practice.

Dr. Ledon’s commitment to creating an environment of compassion and comfort for patients is a key factor in his practice’s success over the years. Understanding that so much of healing and managing pain requires a personal understanding of each patient’s perspective is a hallmark of The iMsk & Spine Group that Dr. Ledon inspires in the whole team.

Joining The iMsk & Spine Group in 2009, Dr. Mike Nicolosi is one of the visionary partners in the practice. Originally motivated into his practice through a personal quest for the betterment of his family and friends, the foundation of Dr. Nicolosi’s decade of practice is a focus on compassion and life quality.

Dr. Nicolosi practices under a personal philosophy where he tries to treat patients the way he would expect for himself or his family. Each patient has a unique set of expectations and circumstances, so he knows there is no such thing as a one-size-fits all approach.

Dr. Nicolosi grew up on Long Island, which bolsters his commitment to the local communities The iMsk & Spine Group cares for. With a focus on family and a philosophy which places high virtue on simple happiness, and enjoys spending time in nature with his family as his way to find personal peace and recharge.

Joining The iMsk & Spine Group in 2018, Dr. Daniel Kapner brings a focused practicality to the team of physicians. Specializing in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Dr, Kapner’s personal passion for the body’s ability to heal stems from his longtime passion for fitness and nutrition.

The cornerstone of Dr. Kapner’s approach to practice comes from gaining a deep understanding of how the human body possesses incredible capacities to heal itself. Indeed, our capacities to heal are one aspect that makes the human species so successful. Therefore, his practice extenuates this ability through maximizing and restoring functionthrough various therapies, modalities, interventions and medication.

Dr. Kapner believes patients – and all of us – are best sorted by listening to what the body tells us, and to understand the messages it sends. Therefore, being self-motivated insight with the body is the most powerful medicine.

Being a Long Island native, Dr. Kapner’s personal time is spent with his growing family, and continuing his personal passion for fitness and nutrition.

Joining The iMsk & Spine Group in 2023, Dr. Plaut seeks to educate in her practice as well as provide care. Her interest seeks to take care beyond just accurate diagnosis to help create multimodal treatments that increase patient function to improve overall quality of life. This sort of broad-thinking approach makes her insight a valuable addition tot he physician team in our practice.

Dr. Plaut has a special interest in the management and treatment of pelvic pain disorders. She offers patients her exceptional expertise in:ganglion impar injections and pudendal nerve blocks for those suffering from pelvic pain due to conditions such as:

• Coccydynia
• Chronic pelvic floor dysfunction
• Endometriosis
• Interstitial cystitis
• Pudendal neuralgia

Dr. Plaut completed her general medical internship and PM&R residency training at Nassau University Medical Center, followed by an ACGME pain fellowship at the prestigious NYU Langone Health in NYC. A native of Queens, NY, she currently resides on Long Island with her husband and four daughters.

Andrea Fortune has been with The iMsk & Spine Group from the very start, and is as much a part of our facilitated growth as any on our team. At the helm of our ever-growing office management and administrative business, Andrea knows the business side of our practice inside and out.

Andrea’s success in management comes from a focus on the quality of the business environment.  Focusing on the details of our offices creates a more efficient and friendly office community. This translates to better patient care because best care begins and ends far beyond just the physicians office.

Andrea has lived on Long Island most of her life, and when she is not keeping the offices of The iMsk & Spine Group in tip-top working order, she enjoys time with her family outdoors, camping and traveling, and always keeping busy.

Diana Radovic-Nicolosi has been with The iMsk & Spine Group for over 7 years, and is a key bridge between patient care and patient administration. Fulfilling a key role that coordinates patient administration with care, Diana is a leader in the office environment bridging the medical and managerial aspects of The Pain Group.

Diana’s philosophy is that accommodation of a patient’s needs does not man compromising common sense. Her focus on merging realistic solutions with compassionate concern has allowed her to develop systems of both patient management and care that are a standard for the entire practice.

Diana is a Long Island native and loves spending her spare time with her growing family and taking excursions with her husband and children.

Maria Lazo has been with our physical therapy team at The iMsk & Spine Group for a couple years, and brings a compassionate level of care to all her clients.

Maria lives in Long Island, and in her spare time she enjoys gardening and biking.

Tanvi Mehta strongly believes practicing rehab science is a recognizable craft which takes concentration and open mindset.

Rehab science sets expectation which is alterably different than hope and judgement.

The focus is to navigate the patient’s psychology which oscillates between fear and vulnerability at the start, to ensuring stability and fearlessness at the end of the Programme.

Progress Ladder

Tanvi has had her initial undergraduate training in physical therapy, her deep interest led her to seek a Masters in Rehab Science, and she passed out with distinction.

Tanvi has also worked extensively as a Research assistant with Dr. Sara Piva on RCTs involving rehabilitation involving lower extremities and has an avid research interest in the field of Musculoskeletal and patient rehabilitation.

Her research approach combined with the practioners approach reflects the multidisciplinary guide to treat patients with close to decade of practice.

Tanvi resides in Long Island, and loves coffee. Tanvi has her own dream journey filled with evangelistic zeal for patient care and rehab science.
